Meet Andrea

Andrea, instructor and owner of Pilates Monterey, began her career in fitness in 1984 when she started teaching aerobics in Marin County. In 1991 she purchased In Step with Fitness, an aerobics studio in Mill Valley, where she taught aerobic and Step classes as well as offered Personal Training. In 1996 she sold her business and moved to the Monterey Peninsula where she taught at a variety of health clubs. Andrea completed her Pilates training in 2002 with Pacific Movement Center, and passed the PMA® Certified Pilates Teacher (CPT) examination in 2006. In 2009 she opened her first Pilates studio in Monterey, and has since moved to a larger studio in Old Town Monterey.

Andrea's Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program is fully recognized by the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) and is listed on their Registry of Schools. Andrea sees clients from all walks of life, and is committed to providing her clients and student teachers with professional, safe and effective Pilates training.

Meet Lesley

After teaching and raising five children, Lesley decided to embark on a new and exciting career as a Pilates Instructor. Over the years, between carpools and pregnancy, she endeavored to stay physically fit and now, as a grandmother, the importance of strength and flexibility are even clearer. Lesley's focus is on people like her, who want bodies to match their energetic and enthusiastic spirits.

She is now finishing up her Comprehensive Teacher Training Program at Pilates Monterey. Meet Sandra

Sandra has been practicing Pilates for over three years, is a Mat Certified instructor and is training to be a Pilates Instructor through the Pilates By Val Instructor Academy.  She is a military spouse and the mother of an active kindergartener.  She began her Pilates practice in Florida in an effort to tighten her mid-section and found that it ignited a commitment to improving her overall health and fitness.  Her weekly practice motivated her to start running and helped her to remain injury free as she completed a 10k, 15k, three half marathons, a full marathon and over ten 5ks, all since 2009.  Sandra has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in social work and is in the process of completing her national certification in Pilates through the Pilates Method Alliance.
