Andrea Borgman-Quist has been a fitness instructor for over 25 years. Andrea worked at various fitness locations in Marin County for twelve years teaching dance aerobics, step, body sculpting, circuit training, stretch and teen classes.
She also provided personal training service throughout Marin County. In 1990 Andrea Borgman purchased In Step With Fitness of Mill Valley, California. This business encompassed aerobics and fitness classes as well as personal training. Andrea directed this business until 1996 when she relocated to Monterey, California.
Upon arriving on the Monterey Peninsula, Andrea continued with her fitness profession by becoming an instructor for a short time at The Inn at Spanish Bay and a permanent member of the Monterey Sport Center staff in 1997.
She completed the Pilates Instructor Training and Certification course at Pacific Movement Center in 2002. She is certified to teach mat Pilates and certified to work on the Pilates Reformer and other apparatus.
Currently, Andrea teaches a variety of fitness classes at her new studio Pilates Monterey in downtown Monterey, as well as Pasadera Country Club, Tehama, and Monterey Sports Center. Andrea teaches Pilates Mat and Reformer classes, aerobics, strength training and more. She also sees clients for private sessions and works with special populations.
Andrea passed the Pilates Method Alliance Certification test in 2006, making her one of only 136 in California to hold such a credential. |
Mia Hurst has been working in the fitness industry for over 12 years, starting in England as a Group Exercise Instructor, before certifying as a Personal Trainer in 2001in Southern California where she started her lifelong journey into Pilates and Yoga before moving to Pacific Grove in late 2002.
Mia is certified as a YogaFit instructor in Levels 1, 2 and 3, Pre/Postnatal, YogaButt and PilatesFit. She has Reformer, Pilates Mat Tech and Core Conditioning certifications and is currently working through her Polestar Pilates Studio Certification, a comprehensive program providing in-depth instruction in Pilates principles, techniques, and practice using the Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Mat and small props.
Mia is proud and excited to be working with Polestar, whose mission is to create “an international community of research-oriented movement science professionals, transferring knowledge to our clients to improve health and well-being, through the application of Pilates and various methodologies of movement science."
